**Counterfeit Bottled Water Factory Busted, Three Charged with Fraud** In a recent crackdown, authorities in Leiyang, Hunan Province, uncovered an underground operation producing counterfeit bottled water labeled as the popular brand "Yibao." The Leiyang City People's Procuratorate has filed criminal charges against three suspects—Liu, Huang Bin, and Huang Nong—for the crime of manufacturing and selling substandard products. Using tap water as their main ingredient, the operation merely filtered the water before filling it into empty Yibao-branded bottles. The bottles were then labeled, coded, and packaged for sale in various regions, including Leiyang, Hengyang, and Chenzhou. This counterfeit production continued for four months, until demand decreased with cooler weather in September, forcing the factory to halt operations temporarily. In May 2018, Liu and Huang Bin resumed production, calling back their employees to continue manufacturing the fake Yibao bottled water. However, in July of the same year, local law enforcement, acting on a tip-off, raided the underground factory. During the raid, they confiscated 1,190 cases of counterfeit Yibao water and over 60,000 fake Yibao labels. Investigations revealed that from May 2017 until the time of the raid, the illegal factory had produced more than 10,000 cases of counterfeit bottled water, with over 8,000 cases already sold.
