The project’s innovative approach, unique research methodology, and efficient budget management earned widespread approval from Aramco's internal technical committee and shareholders, securing funding as one of the largest R&D investments Saudi Aramco has made in the Asia-Pacific region in recent years. The project is led by Dr. Cui Meng, a recipient of the Sun Yueqi Young Scientist Award. Under his leadership, CNPC’s drilling acceleration research team, which has a long-standing focus on accelerating drilling efficiency, will conduct the research.
